Your bedroom should be a place that you can go to in the evenings to unwind, relax and enjoy a restful night of sleep. It should be free of clutter; you should leave your technological devices in another room, and this should be a space that’s cozy as can be. When you slide beneath the sheets, all of your worries and stresses should melt away.
As a registered dietitian, I often have clients that express to me that they aren’t sleeping well at night. While I counsel them in the ways that nutrition can impact their sleep patterns, I also like to share some other tips to make the most of the hours that they spend in their bed at night.
I strongly recommend that you invest in good quality bedding. The goal is to create a space that you don’t want to get out of in the morning. Of course, it’s not pleasant to drag yourself out of bed early in the day, but this situation usually means that you were comfortable and slept well. I recently tried out the Mommesilk Comforter in my own bedroom. I’m so happy with this product, and I can’t wait to share it with you.

Mommesilk Comforter
Introducing the Mommesilk Comforter

The Mommesilk brand is based on over 20 years of experience. They have sold more than 60,000 products all over the world. With a cult following of dermatologists and beauty professionals, Mommesilk’s products have become go-to items for anti-aging, skincare and protecting your hair. This comforter is extremely comfortable, helps you regulate your temperature at night and protects you from irritating allergens. Mommesilk puts a great deal of research, development and testing into their products, so you receive only the highest quality and most durable items possible. You’ll be surprised how thin this product is, but it still manages to keep you quite warm, even if you live somewhere that experiences chilly temperatures at night or during the winter months. It’s also light enough for summer use. You don’t end up sweating or experiencing a sleepless night because you’re uncomfortable.
This moisture-wicking cotton covered silk comforter is soft and soothing. Silk is a naturally hypoallergenic material, so this bedding prevents 99.9 percent of bacterial growth. It’s a must-have for anyone that suffers from allergies to dust or dust mites. It’s also great for people with asthma so you experience a healthy night of sleep without any flare ups. It doesn’t need to be washed that frequently, but you can wash the cotton cover on a gentle cycle or even by hand.

- Made of very soft fabric that is breathable and moisture-wicking
- Naturally hypoallergenic
- Prevents 99.9 percent of bacteria growth
- Anti-dust mite
- Helps you sleep better
- Keeps you cool
- Durable and long-lasting

- A pretty substantial investment, but you’ll find the quality is worth it. It’s much nicer than a store-bought microfiber comforter.
Claimed Benefits
Mommesilk claims that this versatile comforter can accomplish a lot of things. Some of these features may be more important to you than others, but I found that you really appreciate everything this comforter has to offer once you start using it.

Anti-Allergies
A lot of people who suffer from allergies think that their reactions and flare ups are caused by the type of filler that is in their comforter's interior. The issue is usually that bedding can hold dust on it, bacteria and even become home to dust mites. These are more frequent irritants. The Mommesilk comforter minimizes your risk of allergic reaction thanks to its ability to prevent 99.9 percent of bacterial growth naturally from the material that it’s made out of. Silk is a naturally hypoallergenic material that promotes healthy sleep. Your comforter can be washed, but you don’t have to feel like it needs frequent cleanings to keep it a healthy bedding option.
Prevents Overheating
Silk is a very breathable and moisture-wicking material that can keep you cool at night. Some people just tend to be hot sleepers. The second their head hits the pillow, they start to overheat and sweat. Also, there are people that feel comfortable sleeping under a comforter, but the heat of the summer can make this nearly impossible. Instead of suffering through your uncomfortable hot flashes, Mommesilk provides you with a comfortable option that is beautiful but also really functional. You won’t wake up in a pool of your own sweat, and dryness is another important factor of your bedding. Most people report that they weren’t too hot but also weren’t too cold when sleeping with their Mommesilk bedding.
Soft for Comfort
Silk is a really soft and natural fabric. When it’s high quality, you’ll find that it doesn’t have that overly shiny or slippery texture that a lot of low-quality silk products have. A lot of people don’t even realize that the Mommesilk comforter is made of silk at first glance. It does have a cotton cover on it, so that combination I think is really what sets this comforter apart from others. One hundred percent long strand silk floss makes the difference.

Long lasting and eco-friendly
You might be concerned with the cost of the Mommesilk comforter, but I have to tell you, you’ll never regret investing in your bedding. It really helps the quality of your sleep, and you’ll feel so much better during the day when you’re well rested. I do have to mention that this comforter is very durable. You can expect it to last for years and years with just simple spot cleaning. It’s also eco-friendly, having been made with natural materials. There have not been any chemical additives used to make this product. Silk does have a strong smell (though its safe and natural), so you may just want to air your comforter out for a few days before you start using it.
Cost and Where to Buy
You can purchase your very own Mommesilk comforter by visiting the brand’s website, located at Mommesilk's site. The current cost of a twin comforter is $159. This product has a silk weight of 1.25 kilograms. You can upgrade to the queen-sized comforter, which is a silk weight of 1.75 kilograms and costs $199. There is also a king-sized version available for $229 and California King for $259.

My Experience with the Mommesilk Comforter
I decided to try the Mommesilk comforter after seeing an ad for it online. I tend to sleep really well in the winter. I love being able to cuddle up under a big comforter and snooze away. However, in the summer I find it’s really hard to get an adequate amount of sleep because I’m so hot and uncomfortable. I don’t like sleeping without being covered by something, so I’ve always had quite the dilemma with my sleep experience. I was willing to spend whatever I needed to in order to find a product that was warm enough for the winter but cool enough for the summer.
I purchased a queen Mommesilk comforter a number of months back and here’s what I experienced.
What I Liked
I love the softness of this comforter. You really don’t feel like you’re sleeping with a silk comforter, but you reap the benefits of it being so lightweight and breathable. However, it wasn’t so breathable that I was cold on chilly nights.
I’m an allergy sufferer that often wakes up very stuffy. I’ve always thought this was due to pollen that was outside (I like to sleep with the window open) or another irritant in the home. I was shocked to find that my allergies seemed to improve when I started using the Mommesilk comforter.

What I Didn’t Like
It was a bit of a splurge for me to buy a comforter sight unseen, especially at this price point. However, I knew that I had 60 days to return my comforter if I wasn’t happy with it. It’s expensive, but I feel like this is definitely a product that I’m going to have around for many years.
One other issue I have with the comforter is that Mommesilk recommends that you spot treat dirty areas. You can wash the comforter using a delicate cycle, but I’ve avoided doing so thus far. I’m worried it’s going to get ruined. I’ll probably give it a shot at some point, but so far, it’s still looking clean.
What Should Be Improved
I would love to see the comforter have more durable washing instructions, but I suppose the current recommendations are based on the delicate nature of the silk that’s used. I like to give all of my bedding a wash a couple of times per year, but my comforter may have to sit this one out.
I would love to see some different colors and prints offered. I’ve never really been a big fan of solid white comforters and duvets, but I’ve gotten used to it.
Average Rating and Real Mommesilk Comforter Reviews
On the Mommesilk website, you’ll notice that this comforter has a five out of five-star rating based on 10,000 loyal fans. If you scroll down, you’ll see all the publications that featured the Mommesilk comforter at one time or another. Scrolling down even further reveals some personal reviews from people who have tried this product. There aren’t any other verified reviews on the website, though I wish the company would opt to include more.

Alternatives Compared to Mommesilk Comforter
There are a lot of great comforters out there that offer a lot of the same benefits that the Mommesilk Comforter does. Here are some of my top alternatives.
Lily Silk
Lily Silk has a few different comforters that you can choose from, which I like. They have an all-season variety, summer version and even a washable, cotton covered silk comforter. They have other blankets and accessories that you can purchase to complete the look of your bedroom. The price point of these products is quite a bit higher than the Mommesilk version, but Lily Silk has been recognized as being one of the top silk comforter brands by Vogue, Elle, Marie Claire and Cosmopolitan.
Cozy Earth
The Cozy Earth Silk Comforter is a splurge with their queen comforter costing just under $550 (usually marked down from $729). You can choose the fill type and fill amount when ordering. It is made from 100 percent mulberry silk and is perfect for cold conditions. It comes with a 100-night sleep trial so you can return the comforter if you’re not happy with the investment. It also comes with a 10-year warranty. This is another comforter that requires spot cleaning if it gets messy.
The Bottom Line: Is Mommesilk Comforter Any Good?
I think the Mommesilk comforter is an excellent product that provides a lot of features. You can remain cool and comfortable throughout the night, which is a major selling point for me. It’s also great for anyone that experiences allergies and wants to make sure that their bedding is a healthy option for their situation. By investing in a high-quality comforter that meets your needs and elevates the comfort of your bedroom, I’m confident that you’re going to feel more energized during the day and enjoy an amazing night’s sleep after a long day.
